Ian M. Ryan is an author who was born and raised in Oak Forest, Illinois. Ian draws inspiration for writing from his mental health, love of sports, love of other people, and hope to inspire through words. He works on short stories and poems. Poetry, Science Fiction, Romantic Fiction, and Sports are some of Ian's main genres to write about. 

Ian is a Type 1 Diabetic and has Anxiety, Depression, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He uses his experiences with mental health to write compelling poetry and aims to guide people towards seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. 

Ian has published three books, Love in the Lilacs and Other Science Fiction Shorts, Written in the Stars, and Stargazing, all are available on Amazon. 

Ian has been published by Peter Talley in Beyond the Levee and Other Science Fiction Shorts, by Kama at Oak Forest High School, and by Down in the Dirt by Scars Publications five times, most recently in the April 2025 Edition of Scars Publications.

Ian also collects sports cards and Pokémon cards, featuring a personal collection of over 1,000 Bryce Harper cards. Ian also dabbles into his creativeness by making spin art. His Spin Art hobby is called "The Bear's Spin Art".
